Custom Cabin Staining in Blue Ridge, GA
March 6, 2024
This project required a typical restaining as well as several custom items to get it looking just perfect. We started by low pressure washing the entire cabin to remove dirt, mold, and pollen. After letting it dry thoroughly, we clear coated all the surfaces with Sansin ENS Optimum clear coat that did not face the sun regularly, so that we could protect them from wet weather, but not darken them unnecessarily. Then we coated the sun exposed areas with 2 coats of Sansin ENS Butternut stain.
Although it looked great, there was a bit more needed. The client wanted a bit more definition on the chinking lines on the front wall so everything didn't blend together, and they felt the gable in the front was too boring. We used pull scrapers to remove the stain from the chinking joints, and stained them a slightly lighter color. We also remove the gable shakes and installed these amazing hand cut Western Red Cedar shakes, and stained them with Sansin ENS Roasted Almond.
